A message from Mrs. Ray

A very warm welcome to the website for our school. We hope that you find it useful and informative.

I am absolutely delighted to be the Headteacher here at Selby Abbey Church of England Primary School. This is my second headship within North Yorkshire, and I am very proud to be part of such a warm and caring school community.

Selby Abbey School is a larger than average sized primary school, right in the heart of Selby.  We have a close affiliation with Selby Abbey itself and our Curriculum incorporates many events in the Abbey.

Over the course of my career, I have had the opportunity of working in a variety of schools, and in every one, I have been committed to ensuring the highest standards for all our pupils, within an environment which promotes kindness and friendship.

Our school values here at Selby Abbey ensure that all children become the best they can be.  Our exceptionally dedicated staff work hard to support all our pupils and I am proud to lead such a committed and positive team.

We are pleased to have a pre-school setting which offers places for children from two years old.  We also have full wrap around care where children can attend our Breakfast and After School Clubs which are run by our own school staff.

Our school is well supported by a proactive Governing Body and opportunities for links with the wider community, especially with our parents and carers, are key in ensuring that we all work together for the best outcomes for our children and community.
