Church School Ambassadors
Why have you set a Church Ambassadors group up?
We really enjoy different areas of Church school life such as asking big questions and debating our answers, visiting places of worship, writing prayers, looking at sacred books and sharing new knowledge with others. We especially like leading collective worship for others and feel confident doing so!
What have you done to show a positive impact?
We have created many different things, which are used regularly in school, such as our school prayer, our peace garden and our collective worship areas. We led really thoughtful Christmas and Easter Services, so pupils were reminded about the importance of these special times. We have also given pupils a chance during collective worship, to learn more about others and to help think about themselves and their own thoughts and feelings. We have also taken part in different projects at Selby Abbey such as the Prayer Boat Visit, which has helped to link our school and church community!
Our Church School ambassadors are a group of key stage 2 pupils who work with us to help promote our Christian ethos and enhance our distinctiveness and effectiveness as a church school.
