A warm welcome to Selby Abbey Church of England Primary School in Selby. Our children thrive and develop their independence and confidence in a busy and enthusiastic learning environment where there is always much to do, see and learn. My name is Jo Jennings and I am privileged to have been Head teacher of the school since January 2008.

At Selby Abbey School our main aim is to achieve the very highest standards of educational learning, within a caring, exciting and stimulating environment. We work hard to ensure all pupils achieve their full potential and are dedicated to supporting the personal development and wellbeing of all learners within our school.

Child Line Online safety event

Thank you to those parents who came to our Child Line Online safety event for parents on Friday. The key messages were:

– Explore the online world with your chidlren
– Talk about what they do online – early and often
– Set and agree boundaries
– Be Share Aware
– Be a good role model in terms of online behaviour

Quick reminder that our Selby Abbey Primary School KS2 carol service Y3,4,5 and 6) is taking place this evening in the Abbey. Please arrive at the Abbey at 6.15pm. Children should wear school uniform and may have tinsel in their hair or glitter spray (if they wish). The service will last about an hour and any parents who are collecting their child after the service should be at the Abbey no later than 7.30pm. We hope you will stay and take part in this traditional carol service. The carol service will also be on at The Abbey at 1.30pm on Wednesday 13th December.
